Enrollment by Ethnicity: Black was most represented background in Baldwyn School District schools in 2021-22 school year

Black students made up 44.5% of the 752 students enrolled in Baldwyn School District schools during the 2021-22 school year, making them the most represented ethnicity, according to the Mississippi Department of Education.

This is a 0.9% increase over the previous school year.

Baldwyn Elementary School had the highest enrollment in the district with 313 students.

A snapshot of Baldwyn School District schools showed 44.5% of students were Black, 38.2% were white, and 1.9% multiracial.

Baldwyn School District roughly covers three schools and has a main office in Baldwyn.

Mississippi has continually struggled with public education. The most recent Report Card on American Education, from a right-leaning think tank, gave the state a C-. This is consistent with ratings stretching back nearly a decade.

The nonpartisan Education Week also ranked Mississippi schools as C- in their most recent analysis.
