Enrollment by Ethnicity: White highest represented background in Alcorn County schools in 2020-2021 school year

Of the 5,668 students enrolled in Alcorn County schools in 2020-2021, 74.6% were White, according to the Mississippi Department of Education. This was the most represented ethnicity among Alcorn County students.

This is unchanged from the previous school year.

Corinth Elementary School had the highest enrollment of White students in the 2020-2021 school year.

A snapshot of Alcorn County schools showed 74.6% students were White, 13.9% were Black or African American, 5.2% were Hispanic or Latino and 3% were Two or More Races.

There are 11 schools in Alcorn County.

Mississippi has continually struggled with public education. The most recent Report Card on American Education, from a right-leaning think tank, gave the state a C-. This is consistent with ratings stretching back nearly one decade.

The nonpartisan Education Week also ranked Mississippi schools as C- in their most recent analysis.
