There was one gas station in cities across Lee County selling premium gas at the lowest price of $3.95 per gallon in the week ending Oct. 21, according to GasBuddy.com.

The average cost of premium gas in cities within Lee County was $4.02 per gallon.

There are 60 gas stations in cities within Lee County.

The average price of premium gas in Mississippi was $3.76, compared to $3.82 the week before.

The U.S. government missed the mark when forecasting gas prices for 2022. A short-term outlook published early in 2022 claimed gas rates would fall, when in fact gas rates rose significantly.

The outlook once again suggested that prices would fall in 2023.
