Enrollment by Ethnicity: White was most represented background in South Tippah School District schools in 2021-22 school year

White students made up 61.5% of the 2,533 students enrolled in South Tippah School District schools during the 2021-22 school year, making them the most represented ethnicity, according to the Mississippi Department of Education.

This is a 0.9% decrease from the previous school year.

Pine Grove High School had the highest enrollment in the district with 659 students.

A snapshot of South Tippah School District schools showed 61.5% of students were white, 21.2% were Black, 10.3% were Hispanic, and 3.4% multiracial.

South Tippah School District roughly covers five schools within Tippah County and has a main office in Ripley.

Mississippi has continually struggled with public education. The most recent Report Card on American Education, from a right-leaning think tank, gave the state a C-. This is consistent with ratings stretching back nearly a decade.

The nonpartisan Education Week also ranked Mississippi schools as C- in their most recent analysis.
