White had the largest percent of student body in Prentiss County School District schools in 2021-22 school year

White students made up 70.2% of the 2,288 students enrolled in Prentiss County School District schools during the 2021-22 school year, making them the most represented ethnicity, according to the Mississippi Department of Education.

This is a 23.8% decrease from the previous school year.

Wheeler High School had the highest enrollment in the district with 562 students.

A snapshot of Prentiss County School District schools showed 70.2% of students were white, 2.4% were Black, and 1.7% multiracial.

Prentiss County School District roughly covers five schools within Prentiss County and has a main office in Marietta.

Mississippi has continually struggled with public education. The most recent Report Card on American Education, from a right-leaning think tank, gave the state a C-. This is consistent with ratings stretching back nearly a decade.

The nonpartisan Education Week also ranked Mississippi schools as C- in their most recent analysis.
