2021-22 School Year: What were the backgrounds of North Tippah School District students?

White students made up 87.3% of the 1,294 students enrolled in North Tippah School District schools during the 2021-22 school year, making them the most represented ethnicity, according to the Mississippi Department of Education.

This is a 3.4% increase over the previous school year.

Walnut Attendance Center had the highest enrollment in the district with 543 students.

A snapshot of North Tippah School District schools showed 87.3% of students were white, 7.1% were Black, 3.1% were multiracial, and 1.1% Hispanic.

North Tippah School District roughly covers three schools within Tippah County and has a main office in Falkner.

Mississippi has continually struggled with public education. The most recent Report Card on American Education, from a right-leaning think tank, gave the state a C-. This is consistent with ratings stretching back nearly a decade.

The nonpartisan Education Week also ranked Mississippi schools as C- in their most recent analysis.
