White had the largest percent of student body in Amory School District schools in 2021-22 school year

White students made up 59.4% of the 1,537 students enrolled in Amory School District schools during the 2021-22 school year, making them the most represented ethnicity, according to the Mississippi Department of Education.

This is a 0.8% increase over the previous school year.

Amory High School had the highest enrollment in the district with 455 students.

A snapshot of Amory School District schools showed 59.4% of students were white, 35.8% were Black, 1.4% were Hispanic, and 0.8% multiracial.

Amory School District roughly covers four schools within Monroe County and has a main office in Amory.

Mississippi has continually struggled with public education. The most recent Report Card on American Education, from a right-leaning think tank, gave the state a C-. This is consistent with ratings stretching back nearly a decade.

The nonpartisan Education Week also ranked Mississippi schools as C- in their most recent analysis.
