Enrollment by Ethnicity: White highest represented background in Tishomingo County schools in 2020-2021 school year

Of the 2,850 students enrolled in Tishomingo County schools in 2020-2021, 90.1% were White, according to the Mississippi Department of Education. This was the most represented ethnicity among Tishomingo County students.

This is a 0.2% decrease from the previous school year.

Belmont School had the highest enrollment of White students in the 2020-2021 school year.

A snapshot of Tishomingo County schools showed 90.1% students were White, 3.5% were Hispanic or Latino, 3.1% were Two or More Races and 0.6% were Black or African American.

There are six schools in Tishomingo County.

Mississippi has continually struggled with public education. The most recent Report Card on American Education, from a right-leaning think tank, gave the state a C-. This is consistent with ratings stretching back nearly one decade.

The nonpartisan Education Week also ranked Mississippi schools as C- in their most recent analysis.
