Enrollment by Ethnicity: White highest represented background in Tippah County schools in 2019-2020 school year

Of the 3,934 students enrolled in Tippah County schools in 2019-2020, 69.9% were White, according to the Mississippi Department of Education. This was the most represented ethnicity among Tippah County students.

This is a 0.3% decrease from the previous school year.

Pine Grove High School had the highest enrollment of White students in the 2019-2020 school year.

A snapshot of Tippah County schools showed 69.9% students were White, 17% were Black or African American, 6.3% were Hispanic or Latino and 4.4% were Two or More Races.

There are nine schools in Tippah County.

Mississippi has continually struggled with public education. The most recent Report Card on American Education, from a right-leaning think tank, gave the state a C-. This is consistent with ratings stretching back nearly one decade.

The nonpartisan Education Week also ranked Mississippi schools as C- in their most recent analysis.
