Four ICC sophomores named to All-Mississippi Academic Team
Four Itawamba Community College sophomores have been named to the All-Mississippi Academic Team.
They include Raven Blagg of Saltillo, Emily Moorman of Pontotoc, Emory Reinhard of Mantachie and Alexis Tabbs of Red Bay, Ala.
Blagg is dual enrolled at both Tupelo High School and Itawamba Community College. Her activities at THS include archery team and former member of the band, and at ICC, vice president of fellowship for the Beta Tau Sigma chapter of Phi Theta Kappa and archery club team. Her honors include both dean’s and president’s lists. Blagg, who is also a member of 4-H, was one of four individuals on the state team for muzzleloading that competed nationally in June. She works in childcare at Montessori School of Tupelo and in the preschool department at First Baptist Church. Her parents are Steven and Aphilak Blagg.
Moorman is a member of the Beta Tau Sigma chapter of Phi Theta Kappa and a president’s list scholar at ICC where her literary work has been published in The Calliope. She is a member of Hope Church in Tupelo, where she serves as child-care coordinator for Life@Hope, a ministry devoted to serving foster and adoptive families. She also volunteers for Second Chances Animal Rescue. Her parents are Gary and Judi Moorman.
Reinhard is a sophomore elementary education major at ICC, where she is Phi Theta Kappa’s Upsilon Sigma vice president of service, PTK’s MS/LA regional reporter, Sigma Kappa Delta president, Fulton Campus Student Government Association president, executive chair of ICC’s student-led food pantry (The Trading Post), Fashion Tribe backstage executive and a member of Indian Delegation and Honors College. She attends Bethel Baptist Church in Dorsey. She is the daughter of Jill and John Reinhard.
At ICC, Tabbs is Phi Theta Kappa Upsilon Sigma chapter president; Indian Delegation secretary; Fashion Tribe social media executive; and a member of the Honors College, Wesley Foundation lead team, Food Pantry committee, All-American Band and Indianettes dance team. She is also a president’s list scholar. Tabbs attends Red Bay Freewill Baptist Church where she is involved with both her college age group and the choir. Her parents are Brandie and James Miller and Eric Tabbs.
Each two-year college in Mississippi may nominate students to the All-USA Academic Team. Nominations are based on academic performance and service to the college and community.
