Unfortunately we had to make some difficult decisions regarding our trees around the Alcorn County Courthouse. Over the past several years we have had several large limbs break off causing damage to the building as well as the benches around the walkway. We along with professional arborists have looked at several different options to save the trees, however the only safe choice was to remove some of them. While it is disheartening that we are losing a tree that is at least 100 years old, we hope to plant a new one that our children, grandchildren. and great-grandchildren can enjoy watching grow.
